The ALP Congress
The 18th Automotive Lean Production Congress took place from 26th to 27th of November 2024 at Volkswagen Autoeuropa in Palmela (Lisbon), Portugal. We would like to thank our host for two unforgettable days. With the congress, we advocate for interchange within the European automotive industry, each year, as it is important to continue to secure Europe’s leading position as a competitive continent.
For this very reason, we are delighted that the 19th congress will be held from 25th to 26th of November in 2025 at this year’s winner in the category OEM: Volkswagen Poznań, Poland. Save the date!
Dr. Werner Geiger, Managing Directorof Agamus Consult GmbH, who founded the initiative 18 years ago, is excited about the continuation in 2025: “The Lean Congress is a firmly established tradition in the automotive industry. We are already tirelessly revising the format for 2025.”
In addition to honoring the best European plants, the best digitalization project will be awarded as well!
Review of the Congress 2023
Dr. Christian Vollmer, Board Member of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand responsible for Production and Logistics; member of the Extended Executive Committee, commented on the winning of the award 2024.: "Volkswagen and its Palmela plant in Portugal are the winners of the Automotive Lean Production Award for the second time in a row and will thus host the congress in 2024. The 18th ALP congress inspired its participants with visionary and thrilling keynotes, as well as innovative and pioneering winner presentations and implementations of Best Practices in Lean and Digitalization. As part of the festive evening event, Agamus Consult and Automobil Produktion awarded the best plants of the benchmark study on the topic Lean and Digitalization in the various awarding categories with their awards. The large audience of experts could gain inspiring insights in the biggest automotive plant in all of Portugal at the exclusive plant tour at Volkswagen Autoeuropa.
