ALP-Study 2024
The study is focussing on the following questions:
- What are the success factors of Lean Production?
- Which lean modules are used and to what extent?
- What results are achieved in terms of quality, costs and
delivery performance? - How does the digitalisation of manufacturing affect the
further development of production systems? - What successful digitalisation projects are existing in the
automotive industry?

Benchmarking
Based on the individual analysis, each participating factory can draw its own benchmark regarding the application of Lean methods, the use of digitised applications (Smart Applications) and the results achieved.
Comprehensive self-reflection
Beyond benchmarking, the questionnaire focusses on a variety of success factors, which were developed based on the experience of more than 16 years of Automotive Lean Production – Award & Study by Agamus Consult. The critical analysis helps to identify blind spots at the approach in every stage of Lean implementation.
External Feedback on request
Agamus Consult offers, upon request and against replacement of the travel costs, an independent evaluation visit to those companies that have not been nominated.
Results
The study allows a direct comparison with the “best in class“: All participants will receive an individualised analysis, including international benchmarking on request.
The participation is free of charge.
Application for the ALP-Award
The application takes place with the submission of the questionnaire. For the Automotive Lean Production Awards 2024 the application period expires with the deadline for the study questionnaire on 12 May 2024.
After analysing the questionnaires received, an on-site evaluation will take place at the plants that are nominated for the Automotive Lean Production Award. In a personal feedback session, you will have the opportunity to discuss your strengths and potential improvements with our experts. The most 'Lean' and efficient plants will be awarded at the Automotive Lean Production Congress on 26-27 November 2024 and will also be presenting their award-winning projects and strategies.
The questionnaire for the initiative is based on the practical knowledge gained from over 800 successful Agamus projects and is further developed annually on the basis of a lessons learned process. It is therefore ideally suited as a template for comprehensively measuring your own maturity level with regard to lean and digitalisation.
Your questionnaire data will be stored electronically by Agamus for evaluation and will not be passed on to third parties. The use of your data for statistical purposes is exclusively anonymised. Your personal data will only be used for queries within the scope of the study. Only the company names of the award winners will be published.
