About Automotive Lean Production

18 years Lean & Digital

18 years of Automotive Lean Production – Award & Study

'Learning from the best!' is the motto of the Automotive Lean Production Award, which Agamus Consult presents annually in cooperation with the industry magazine Automobil Produktion. The best performers in the Europe-wide benchmark study are honoured in the categories OEM, Supplier and Special Awards. We are still at the beginning of our search for the automotive factory of the future. What will a successful symbiosis of man and technology look like? Currently, the answers to future questions are being developed. With Automotive Lean Production - Award & Study, we want to actively accompany this exciting time and thus help to drive the development forward. It is our goal to establish a benchmark for lean and digitalisation for the European automotive industry with our initiative, which provides orientation and a standard.

History

Agamus Consult and Automobil Produktion started to scrutinize the Toyota myth in the spring of 2006. At this time, the automotive industry was still amazed about how Toyota was pushing its suppliers to "0-defect" and just-in-time (JIT). This scepticism has disappeared in the meantime and the entire industry has started to design its value chains according to the principles of lean production systems - and this with such a success, that even made the "master" Toyota sit up.
The initiative Automotive Lean Production – Award & Study accompanies the development of Lean Production and Lean Management in Europe together with the participants:

  • more than 1,350 participating plants from 19 nations
  • more than 290 on-site-evaluations at top performing plants
  • 87 winning plants in total

Automotive Lean Production – Award & Study is a cooperation between the magazine Automobil Produktion and Agamus Consult GmbH, Munich. Agamus Consult has served automotive enterprises as an implementation consultancy for more than 25 years.
