Automotive Lean Production Congress 2022

Learning from the best! - Innovative solutions based on Lean and Digitalisation were the cornerstones of the 16th international Automotive Lean Production congress' on 16th and 17th of November 2022 in Pamplona, Spain. Next to visionary key notes and an exclusive plant tour at Volkswagen Navarra, Agamus and Automobil Produktion awarded the best European plants with the prestigous Automotive Lean Production Awards based on the corresponsing benchmark study during an festive awards ceremony. 

During the two day event at the Volkswagen Navarra plant, the winners of the different award categories received their honors and presented their best-of-class implementations to the audience. 

On November 16th, Volkswagen Navarra invited the participants to an exclusive tour through the Navarra plant. A digitalisation round table and lean management workshop completed the practical part of the first day. 

Dr. Christian Vollmer, Member of the Board of Management of the Volkswagen Brand responsible for Production and Logistics opened the evening event at a Spanish winery with his key note “Produce.Together @ Global Volkswagen Brand.” During the following awards ceremony the BMW plant in Dingolfing was awarded the Automotive Lean Production award in the category "OEM" while IVECO Group - FPT Powertrain Technologies (Frankreich) received the award in the category "Component Supplier" und  Eissmann Automotive Plant Nyíregyháza (Ungarn) in the category "Part Supplier". Volkswagen Autoeuropa (Portugal) won the first-time award "Digital Use Case" and REHAU Automotive Viechtach (Deutschland) was honored with the special award "Lean Turnaround."

On the second day of the congress, all winners presented their innovative solutions and answered questions. Based on the presentations and discussions it's been clear that the intelligent connection of lean and digitalisation is key for the competiveness of the European automotive industry.
